I have a rotted out 82 camaro with a pretty good drivetrain and exterior parts, but as mentioned its rusted practically beyond repair. I got an offer to buy a good rust free 1987 trans am Firebird rolling chassis and know that these cars are pretty similar. Could i theoriticaly throw all the good parts including front bumper, hood ect from my camaro on the Firebird?
Im aware the taillights and maybe the spoiler wont fit, but thats ok for now.
If you really want a Camaro, starting with a Firebird sounds like a long way around.
While what your asking has of course been done, if I was in your situation, I'd be looking for a good Camaro roller instead
You can definitely do it, but it's a lot of work. Usually, it is done when someone has an accident in their Firebird, and they install a Camaro front clip, or vice-versa.
Keep in mind that the wiring isn't the same between the two cars, so it's more than just bolting the parts together.
