Fog lights on a Formula

A couple of years ago (or more), my coworker Joe told me about these fantastic old fog lights from the late 80s/early 90s that had heat-activated louvers on them which would automatically open and closed.

I thought they were the COOLEST damn thing, and spent a couple years searching for a set of them. I ended up scoring them 2 or 3 years ago now for a steal on Ebay when I lowballed the seller and he accepted.

My whole reason for posting is that my Formula 350 obviously doesn't have the Trans Am style provisions for fog lights under the front bumper. I think they'd look tacky if I just hung them in the middle. I'm prepared to accept the fact I will probably just sit on these for a while until I find something else to put them on - but checking to see if anyone has any creative suggestions first.

I can't see where they would fit without interrupting the whole cosmetic flow of the nose.

Those are cool lights but just can't see a reason for them on the car. With todays lights, i don't see a need for them on the trans am bodies either. Use the trans am fog/driving openings for brake cooling ducts instead

Thanks guys. Pretty much the same thing i was thinking in my head. I'll keep these lights around for something else, or probably end up selling them as the value on them keeps rising lately. But don't worry - not touching the Formula with them.

Re: Fog lights on a Formula

When I was younger I added similar (those BLAZER) lights on my base 89 Firebird.

It didn't have I believe the air intake duct on the bottom of the nose that I assume it was supposed to have like the Formulas....and you could see the impact bar.. I just drilled some holes and used very long bolts to hang them You couldn't see them unless you looked nose level with the car or from the bottom.....but they provided additional lighting etc.. . I didnt have them long though an used the hols for other accessories.

I removed the ducting from my formual (no overheating luckily!!) to add other goodies and can add the lights back if I wanted... But I agree though that with todays modern day lighting etc.. they aren't necessary .
