Headlight covers/LED Headlights

So.. a couple years ago I found a pair of clear headlight covers on evilbay. I've never installed them, they just sit in a box in the closet. Right now I'm thinking of upgrading my stock halogen headlights ( aka Silverstars that are 10 yrs old, atleast) with LED

Now, here is the question - and I know how some of you feel about the headlight covers.. Would I have issues with the LED headlights overheating if I install the headlight covers? I'd be totally ok with not using the headlight covers, but I think it would look kinda badass with that combo.

overheating? I would think the LED has less of a draw then a halogen.

some of the 4x6 lights I've seen have what looks like cooling fins on the back of them. Wasn't sure if that was for cooling purposes or not.
