92 Camaro Drip Rail Paint or Coated?
I pulled my drip rails off to check for rust and to paint underneath. I started stripping the foam off and the paint (?) peels off too. It looks almost like it is some kind of plastic coating instead of paint. I don't know if sandblast will take the coating off if it is plastic. Does anybody know if they are painted or plastic coated?

It's probably an factory applied sealant that they painted over. Which drop rail are you talking about?

These are what I call an inner and outer drip rail that runs up the A pillar and over the door. The inner is aluminum trim that holds the rubber door moulding around the window and the outer laps up over the roof edge above the window...

I remember someone saying that those were powder coated. I just sanded and painted mine .

Well, the drip rails are at the powder coater. The said they have a stripper they can use on them. We shall see in a week or two depending upon their schedule.
