Paint code
1987 Firebird GTA, I have no Service Parts Identification Label so I cannot know for sure what my paint code is. I think it's a WA3967 Cotillian white but I have no way to verify other than to buy some paint and try it.
Any other way to know?

Re: Paint code
Pretty sure 3rdgen white in 1987 was called, simply, White. RPO code was 40. And the color code was WA8554.

Re: Paint code
WA8554 Is a white clearcoat
WA3967 is a white cotillion
Not exactly sure what the difference is, I'm not a paint guy. Maybe someone can comment and clarify this???

Re: Paint code
An update for those in a similar situation. My paint code ended up, through deduction and comparison of several paints (dupli-color), being a 11 gm code WA3967. Dupli color EBGM01387. I compared that to the WA8554 (code 40) EBGM03387 and found the code 40 white too white compared to my TA. Dupli color calls it (WA3967) a white "Cotillion" but has now dropped the Cotilion from their vernacular. Many thanks to Roger at Dupli Color. I also went down the path of using the GM Heritage WEB site (GM Heritage Archive | General Motors) where you can provide a VIN and they will pull up an original build sheet from their archives for $50. In my case all I wanted was the paint code so the $50 wasn't worth it but others may get allot of use from that site. There are ALLOT of sources to determine paint codes with many of them conflicting with each other. Dupli color seemed to be most accurate in my case but you can always have a paint supplier make your color too if you can provide a good sample.
Anyway, appreciate all the help.
