Does anyone have a picture (or can take a picture) of their VECI label for this model and engine? (I do not have spiral headers; just regular stock headers.) I'm mainly looking for the correct base timing because I'm hearing and reading conflicting information - 0 degrees, 6 degrees BTDC, and 9 degrees BTDC. My hood is after market so my sticker is not available.

Right now, the car is set to 0 and I adjusted it because it was at 9, but it ran at a really high idle. Now every so often, it seems like my car will stall out on me, once even while driving, so something isn't quite right obviously.

Tbi is set to tdc with est disconnected, any error codes stored for Vss or anything else?

 

TDC meaning 0 degrees with EST disconnected?

That's where I have it now. I did forget to mention that I messed with the throttle body idle set screw when trying to troubleshoot. I have no idea where the factory setting was, so that may be my issue. I have no service codes or engine lights coming on.

 

Might reset the minimum idle speed with iac commanded in.yes tdc is zero

 

I already did that - I've replaced a lot of things, including the ECM, and this is only the third time I've had it out on the road since then, so maybe the ECM is still learning. Seems like I can give it a decent amount of gas/RPMs, and immediately and quickly let off the gas and the car will go down to about 500 RPMs and try to catch itself from stalling out for about a half a second, and then will level out at about 700-750 RPMs, according to my tach. With it just in park, idling, it idles around 700-750.

 

The base timing spec is 0 degrees.
