need straight up answer on t-tops

ok i busted one of my t-tops yesterday trying to get ice off of it,so it doesnt melt and leak into my car.it cracked from the outer edge to the inside.i managed to get it taped up with 3 layers of masking tape, and it seems to be holding up pretty good.so i was wondering if anyone knows for sure that glass t-tops will or wont fit plastic t-top cars.ive searched and seen some very blurry answers.ive seen that some years wont interchange, and some will.does anyone know for sure??I NEED HELP!!!

Here is the deal, All GM ttops are the same size. GM changed the design several times and they aren't all interchangable without adjusting the mounting points. Get a set from the same year car and they should fit. Either way just make sure that you don't get stuck with a set that won't fit your car. Ie try them first or make sure the seller has a good return policy.

Just make sure you get a set of factory t-tops with the pin style latch (not the 82-83/84? hook style latch) and not a set of aftermarket tops like Cars & Concepts. Look at how your tops latch for reference. If you do that, they'll fit.

MEASURE THE Width of the metal between your T-tops and your Windshield.

The Factory T's windshield frame is about the same width as the "A" pillar. The Aftermarket ones that I have seen, the windshield to T-top is about 5 inches, almost twice the width of the A pillar. (the A-Pillar is the piller between the door window and the Windshield.)

Go to www.sunroofdoctor.com they have some info on this topic. I THINK there is only 2 DESIGNS, Factory & C&C (Cars & Concepts)

Trivia question for all you guru's out there, Did you know that C&C actually developed the Banchee Concept car for Pontiac. I was at there facility here in Michigan (when they were in existance) and they had the Banchee sitting there in the back room. I actually got to sit in it too

oh well enough gloating..

Good luck...
