Got Mod??????????

Just gonna throw something a little different into the mix. I am pretty sure while visiting this site that I have never seen the thread that I am starting. So here goes. This will be directed toward people that already have 2 to 3 3rd gens or wish they had 2. Finally the question.....if you had 2 third gens, you could easily make up your mind which mod you would like to do,if you had 2 different ideas and you had 2 3rd gens then it would be an easy fix. I guess what I am asking is,which mods are you undecided about?and if you had 2 third gens what would be your 2 mods that you would do if you had 2? I know I have repeated myself, but I am not a very good "thought to keyboard" type person So please post some of your ideas if you were undecided about a mod,but now that you have 2 you can do both! Durn, theres another repeat oh well, hopefully yall understand where I am coming from.

I do have 2,
Camaro and Firebird.

I do all my mods to the Camaro

I leave the Firebird alone

Next mod: 4th gen Interior, but I might do that for both...

I think that might be the answer you are looking for...

Thats sort of what I had in mind Check out my example....I have 2 3rd gen Camaros. I really like the cowl hood and the turbo hood. At first I was undecided which one to buy,but now that I have 2 Camaros,I can now have both of them!

It would probably be cheaper to buy both the hoods, and then switch them, then geeting another car.

But I see what your getting at. I have 3 cars right now

91 RS
88 Bird
87 Monte Carlo SS

And that is too much, I can imagine do constant mods to all of them.

Camaro and Monte are my project cars. Bird is the driver...

The insurrance company love me...

I would have my Iroc and a Iroc vert . The vert would have my present heads and cam lt1 . My present Iroc would have a lt1 stroker with a turbo.
Is that what you were looking for?

I have 2 thirdgens too. Both modded (well, just starting on the one). Big block for one, small block for the other. Manual for one, auto for numero two. Blue for one, orange for the other. 18" rear / 16" front on one, 17" for the other. Many things will be the same: subframe connectors, strut tower brace, upgraded suspension pieces, 3 pod pillar gauges. Biggest difference is one is a show car, and the other is my daily driver.

I am actually taking a little different approach, when I bought my 87 Formula, it had the ole 4bbl, I wanted TPI so I bought a car just for the TPI and converted my LG4 over. Then I found another Formula with the TPI already in it, I used the car for a template, so I ould tell where everything went properly. After I bought the TPI car I realized that the car is kind of unusual being that it had the TPI, the 5 speed, and T-tops, so I decided right there & then that I would mod the heck out of my LG4 car, and leave the other car to being original.

I figured the LG4 would be virtually worthless, but the other car would have a little value because it did not have the peanut cam and it was a little more unusual because of its options...

I would only work on 1 car at a time. I have 2 cars right now, an 84' Z28 and an '86 Fiero 2M4. If you dedicate your time to one project at a time you make more progress, and you won't burn yourself out. I was working on the Fiero for the longest time, negating my Z, but I finally realized that my Z needed more attention, and put the Fiero on hold. Now, I'm finally making progress on my Z. If you DO get 2 cars, try figureing out which one will make the best project and work on that, And use the other to drive. Then switch off when you feel its ready for the road. I dunno, just my 2 cents. Based off of personal experience.

I agree with golden sword, just look at my list of cars, and to tell you the truth, the 67 Riv, has not been driven for more than a year and a half, the 2nd Formula, is the same. Only my driver and my First Formula have been driven within the past year...

I only have the patients to work on one car at a time...

WOW! Sure has been alot of replies here It's really hard to explain my feelings I have toward 3rd gens, some sort of obsession or something If I see one going down the road while I am driving, I'll just about break my neck trying to get a look at it. I just Love'm I guess. As far as working on 1 at a time, Not me! My firebird is my daily driver and yet I still try to work on it when I get the chance(Saturdays and Sundays) As far as my other two rides. I will get at a point where I have to order a part for one of them, so I will end up having to wait on it to arrive before I can go any further, then I will end up just going to the other car and start working on it again. Sort of a never ending process Maybe one of these days all three of them will be finished, then what you ask? Can't stop there, need to try and get another 3rd gen. maybe a convert or something.

:hail: To all 3rd gens and all who own them.

riping off kids sounds mature to me, you know if those trick brakes cause any problems for that kid, youd probably be held responsible, this is the type of stuff that reminds me of old one eyed jack

Before I edited this I had a big old rant posted. But now that I think about it, is it me or do most of us have some kinda problem keeping the boards just tech realated with out bull****ting?

If I rant, then 10 more of you are gonna rant abck at me, then I'm gonna rant back and so on and BAM Locked thread, so, lets drop it after this reply, whatever you got against me, drop it and I'll drop it too.

Agreed? Good
