Map pocket question
How are the map pockets on the inside door of my '88 Formula attached? Are they sewn to the door panel, or are they mounted with clips? I just fingered a pair of cup holders out of a '91 'Bird at the junkyard on Saturday for $6, in mint condition How am I gonna get these map pockets off? Or am I gonna need new door panels? Cause that would suck. Actually, I'm just going to take it to the upholstery shop, but I still want to know what I'm getting in to... please let it be simple.

It's very simple! The best way to do it would be to take the panels off-I'll assume you know how-They're held on by those sheet metal kind of nuts--they're kind of hollow(nuts) all you do is unscrew the nuts and the pockets come right off!! simple!

Actually, short of crowbarring it off, I'm not really sure how to remove the door panel
/goes and sits in corner
I'd love to do it myself but I do'nt want to mess up my interior

Ok--1st thing to do is remove the armrests--it's a torx head--then remove the door lock plates--lots of screws-plus there's 1 hidden screw and a few fake torx head screws on there--be very careful!
then start to pull up the door panel-starting on the lower bottom--best thing to get would be the panel removal tool--so you don't tear the cardboard backing or break the plastic plugs--be very careful and work your way around both sides of the panels--when you get to the top--where the long plastic panels are--kind of push in(lower part of the black plastic)and lift up at the same time! But make sure you pull everything off 1st that I mentioned--lock plates and armrests. Hope I made it clear for you. Can anybody make it a little clearer?
