Has anyone ever totally taken off the map pocket. Mine is in bad shape...it is stained and the bottom hangs off. i almost think it might have a cleaner look if i totally took off the map pocket. has anyone done anything different than having a pocket? i would love to hear some ideas and see some pics. thanks

If you remove it threr are 6 holes where the pocket clips into that wou will see. Go to a junkyard and get another one in good condition. Seen alot of them.

I personally like the early T/A dash pocket, it has a nice flap over, and it looks cleaner than some of the later ones in my opinion.

I went to a yard and salvaged a map pocket to put in my IROC (never enough room in our cars). Here's what I did.

so youre tellin me there are 6 holes behind all that? how does it come off? just some careful pullin and pryin? how about if i left that sort of "pad" or i guess what would be considered the back of the pocket? just taking off the actual "pocket"

ohhh, my mistake I was thinking dash pocket, Actually tere are 6 holes in the door pocket too.

For the dash pocket, you have to do some careful pulling, Especially if you want to save the pocket itself. Some come right off, others, you have to pull with all you got.

As for the door pocket, you take off the door panel and there are 6 nuts that you remove. There the cheep push-on sheetmetal type that you unscrew with a pair of plyers.

good luck either way.
