Loud "PSH!" sound when starting up engine...
Don't know how else to describe it lol.
I just replaced the intake manifold gaskets on my 86 T/A. The engine started up, ran rather roughly, and made a couple of "Pssh!" sounds (like a rapid release of air). Now it smells kinda bad too.
I'm still kind of new to this... Anyone have any idea what would make a sound like that?

+1 on double checking vaccum lines.
You had to take them off to get the intake off, right? One probably isnt seated all the way.
Or maybe someone replaced your car with a Chrysler Turbine

My buddy had the same problem when he got the motor back in on his. He just hooked up the vacuum lines wrong on the diverter valve so it sounded like a loud air leak when he started it and while running. But it's most likely a vacuum leak.
