How did you conect up your sender for electric fuel pressure gauge?

I have an Autometer Phantom electric fuel pressure gauge that I have still to fit. How did you connect the sender to a fuel supply? I'm thinking that the easiest way is to use the schraeder valve on the passenger side fuel rail. I'm thinking that those little AN fittings and maybe some steel braded hose could be used?? The threads on the sender are different from the ones on the fuel rail valve. Does anyone know the sizes I need?

Thanks for the help

Robert

i am getting ready to do mine tomorrow probably. by searching some of the older posts i came to figure that i need some 4an steel braided tubing with 4an fittings on each end and then a 4an to 1/8" NPT fitting for the end that will go on the sending unit. one thread said that the 4an fittings will hook right up to the schrader valve. guess ill find out tomorrow. first though i gotta find some fittings and hose.

That sounds like how I hooked up my Autometer Phantom electric fuel pressure gauge. Pretty simple. I think I used some fuel resistant sealant on the threads, but its been awhile and I can't remember for sure (that might have been on the oil temp sender).

If you're going to hard-mount the gauge inside the car (rather than in the hood like some ppl do), I'd (personally) put the sender on the feed line somewhere so I could still hook up an FP gauge when I'm working under the hood (adjusting fuel pressure, chasing down problems, etc.). Although I suppose you could always just remove it whenever you do that.

That's what I did. I took the inlet fuel line to a tube fitting supply co. I had them cut it and swage a t-fitting in the middle. Lon

Thanks for the help guys. I'll have a look under the hood tomorrow and decide how I'll connect the little bugger.

Regards
