Bucket Seats in the Back

i just yanked out my rear seat to do an amp install and a friend of mine sugessted that i should look into putting buckets in the back, i told him it wouldnt be good because of the mounting height and the problems i would have with the rear floor, but i did take this into consideration, a buddy of mine has a 88 cutlass supreme with the bucket type rear seats that are 2 peices if i took the back rest of these types of seats and custom made mounting equip so they could bolt in my 85 camaro

do you think its at all possible / would look good

If memory serves me correctly there was "split backs" on Firebirds and Camaros. It was an option.

This may sound a bit off-the-wall, but has anyone ever put an actual bench seat in the back of a camaro? You know, one that will seat three people, with seat belts?

I swear, does anyone EVER read the tech articles on this site? Half the posts I see on thirdgen.org are:

1. How do I repair/bypass VATS?

2. How do I get codes from my Check Engine Light?

Read the tech articles!

There's an article there that describes how to install a split-backrest seat into a solid-back car.

I have the split-back rear seat in one of my cars and it isn't the bucket type rear seat he's talking about. The spilt-back is still almost flat across.

kabar, i don't know if it's possible to put the rear seat like you want in the car without losing some head-room. And it's already cramped back there.

people, there is a pretty big difference between split-back and bucket seats. Split-backs (as in my camaro) has the backrest cut in half, allowing each side to be folded down seperately... now with buckets, they each have their own seat and backrest, just like your driver/passenger seat..... so to sum it up, dont bitch at kabar for one reason or another, his question was 100% valid, and a good one at that. (End of rant)

and keep us updated if you get this project rolling
