help! searching for mirrors (91 bird)

Hello!
Im from germany and proud owner of a ´91 Firebird.
Have a look at the pic below and tell me what this oversized golf-putters have to do with this beautiful car... (I think the german TÜV applied them)
I´m looking for the original one´s so does anybody have an idea where i could order them (aftermarket)?
The GM-Service in germany is far too expensive (about $600)!

You can send a mail to: mklaus@mac.com

Many thanks in advance!

Markus

Check your RPO code sheet, and look for DD9, if you have it then the oversized putter mirrors might have been the standard option on your car.

Here in the states the (DD9) mirror was only offered in 1987 on the GTA, but was dropped mid year and in some cases were replaced with the standard power mirror.

Other things that I notice on your car that is not consistant with the cars sold here in the states: You have the areo Spoiler, but "firebird" badging, and you have the standard hood.

These all might be part of an export package that GM used on those cars...

hope that helps...

John

What confuses me more is the plain hood, as there is a v-6 91 bird up the street from me with the aero spoiler and gfx, but that one has the hood with the heat extractors in it.

I'll agree, those paddles are unique looking...

Whats your top speed so far over there in Germany?

It was me who applied the hood, i´m going to make the car look "clean". Last month i´ve painted the t-tops and the door handles. I will also apply some bbs 17" rims with goodyear tires to it soon (Any ideas about lowering the car VERY near to the ground?). Puh, still have no idea what to do with the mirrors...
Anyway, Thank you very much guys!

The problem with putting the bird on the ground, is the fact that where the body stops isnt where everything else stops. Youll be scraping like a madman if you lower over an inch or so.
