Paint The Gauge Cluster Lens

Has any of you tried painting the guage cluster lens with transparent paint? I was thinking you could even get some translucent plastic and put behind the lens to get the color you want. It seems so much simpler and cheaper than replacing the bulbs. And you could change colors a hell of a lot easier too if you desired.

might be interesting, but you might run into the problem of not being able to see your gages under certain conditions.

I dunno, just seems kind of risky.

I think a cleaner look is to definately change the bulbs...

IF your gung ho about doing it, get a spare from a salvage yard and paint it. you can use House of Kolor for the transparent paint, use the color coat from the Kandy color...

Just my opinion
