not permant-but for racing reasons . . .does it unbolt from somewhere?

At the extreme lower left and lower right of the seat, there is a bolt that you can unscrew. It requires a star bolt, a large on for that. I did it when I replaced the seats in my car with 4th gen seats. By far the easiest mod, you should have no problem!

just a helpfull hint if you dont allready know, screw the screws back into the seat so you dont loose them.
