where is the AC hot/cold cable gone

where is the AC hot/cold cable gone
The underdash airbox in my 84 has been modified to make way for the steering column (LHD - RHD conversion).
The cable is missing off the controls and i can't find the control arm on the airbox.
Have a look at the photo, where does the cable hook up to, has it been removed or does it go on the cross with the hole?
