Looking to install neons in my heater ducts.....
Hey everyone, ive been looking for a while to install neons in my heater ducts to where the neon light appears to be "filtering" through the vents. I looked at a few web sites and found various different neons. Now, i dont know what would be best, and what would be practical as far as stealth wiring goes. I dont want any wires showing. I want a good strong light without the neon being too obvious. Led's, neon wire, neon tubes i dont know what would be best. Ive seen it done before, bawls and firebretha did it to their rides, but i need someone to sorta walk me through this. What would be a good product to buy for this? How much material will be needed? I'm going for a light blue since my panasonic cd player has a light blue display. Also, ive seen this little neon "distributor block" or whatever its called (street glow makes it) and it controls a bunch of neons and has controls for pulsing to the music and just on/off. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance

What Model? I happen to be rather partial to those. One in my car, one stolen from my car, and put one in my brothers car, the same one that was stolen from mine was also stolen from my neighbor. Now about neons in the vents. I have done this before in my freinds grand am GT (the one that got its CD player stolen).
We used street glow 3" tubes that came in pairs, and it looked really cool. I just mounted them with velcro inside the vents. To hide all the wires, we basically just took the dash apart and used a little creativity. One thing I should mention though about this product. We had terrible luck with them. They seriously burned out transformers and tubes on a weekly basis. We had 4 tubes, one in each vent, and two transformers, and at least one component failed almost every week until we finally said screw it. Part of the problem could have been that we cut and extended the wires from the tubes to the transformers. It didn't have any warnings not to do this, but it may have thrown some impedences off or something and caused the failures. I should also mention he is on his 3rd amp (come model of concept) since this summer. They just keep failing, and it was all pro installed. Nobody can figure out why. This car has had a long history of "electrical disturbences" so it may be other wiring/charging/voltage issues coming into play.
