LS1 rear swap.. question on emergency brakes
Ive seen conflicting answers in my search. Im putting a LS1 rear into my 86 IROC that has drums. Can I use the LS1's emergency brake cables or do I need the "longer" version of the thirdgen cables... I also saw that a custom bracket is needed. I can take care of that part.
Thanks

I have this same problem with my 98 rear swapped in. Havent had the time to come up with something that wasnt bootleg, so i have had no ebrake for the past few months. If anyone has any ideas without much custom fab work, i would be very interested.:hail:

ThirdGenResource did 1991 Z-28's car and i watched. They used the Disc Brake Cables for a 91 Z28 and it worked out fine.

I'm sure there are ways to make earlier cables fit, but I'd just use the LS1 cables and make up a bracket.
