LS1 and Parking Brake
Hey, Guys,
I've got an opportunity to purchase a rear end (or parts from it) from an 98 TA WS6 at a great price. From the search I did (I guess I just want verification), I gather the discs and calipers are a bolt-on to my 85 IROC rear discs but that I'll need to do some fabing for the parking brake cable. That pretty much it?

Yep.
Also fab up a new brake hardline for the axle or use the LS1 hardline.

Cool. I can get the hardline from the 98's rear end. Is anyone on the board, fabbing the parking cable bracket for sale?

I've read a number of places on here that you can just use 3rd gen cables on the 4th gen brakes if they don't have the internal drum parking brake. Might be simpler that fabbing up a bracket. I've not tried this yet to confirm it, but Napa carries the cables. There are 2 different ones listed. Would be cheap enough to try them and see. And if they don't fit, just take them back to Napa.
Check to see if the brakes you are getting have the internal drum or not. If they don't then try the cables from Napa.
