Front disc brake rotors

Ive been having trouble with my front brakes so I went and got a set of replacement brake rotors for my car at Advance.
The rotors they gave me already have the wheel studs on them.....I dont remember if my rotors having them already attached or not...did the guy give me the wrong rotors?

Oh yeah we were talking so much about the brakes and stuff that he forgot to charge me for the rotors!......LOL! and then he helped me even load them in my truck....I was like, ah, ok...and drove off!...LOL

but do I have the correct or wrong rotors?

I can take a picture if you need to see them

Might as well replace the bearings and seals thile you have em off....

If you reuse the old bearings: MAKE SURE use the same bearing races. Youll have to pound them out of your old rotor.

Even if you do get new bearings, STILL pound out those cheap bearing races, lol..... Use the ones that come with your new bearings.

I use a brass punch so I dont damage the races, I just did the same thing 2 weeks ago... good luck

That's the right rotor. And as is mentioned above, ALWAYS use new bearings with new races. It's easier to just buy the new ones than to bang the old races out to reuse them, not worth it IMO.

So you knew you were not charged for the rotors at the time and yet you did not inform the worker who was kind enough to help you out with them?? How is that any different then just taking them off the shelf yourself and walking out with them?? That is STEALING!! And what is this LOL?? Think is funny, huh??

THIEF!! THIEF!!

Now you'll end up getting bad karma and someone will vandalize your car or it'll get totaled, motor blow......something bad usually happens! That's no bs.
That's just how the car gods work.

I didnt read it that close. Honestly you shoudl go tell them the mistake and offer to pay. They are only like $28-35, and if they say, "well it was our mistake, keep em" then you can feel free of guilt.

worst case, you pay for what you got and feel good too...

"You get, what you pay for" - they won't stop your car until you go to the shop and pay for 'em.
And the guy you were talking with - he may be less helpful to another customers now

Oh good ***! Get off it guys Im no thief! I went back there when I got my bearings and he was in there. I asked if he remembered what we were talking about yesterday and about the rotors.......He said he meant to let me have them and gave me an explaination which I dont care to let you trigger happy people no about. So there. We talked about all kinds of stuff about his car and mine and one thing led to another. Im no freaking thief, I would be if I went in there and stuck them in my pockets or ran out the door with them. Just remember next time you get something for less than what it cost...your STEALING! Theres all kinds of senerios that this can be played out in...I go up there all the time maybe it was just my lucky day. Im smell a little jelousy here....anyways....Im done with this.

I did get all the inner and outer bearing and am going right now to put them in and wait till I get my SS brake lines come in from Spohn's...should be here Friday I hope.

the people at advance seem to be pretty cool. i can see giving him a break on them if youre in there all the time, but not free, but like you said, maybe it was your lucky day. BTW, in their computers, wheel bearings for my 91 T/A were listed as 1LE ones, same with every where else I have been.

Only one person called you a theif, we were just nudging you to do the right thing. Nothing wrong with being honerable.

If a gas station guy gives me back $10 too much, I give it back, even if im already out in my car. I would want someone to give me back my $10 if I gave them too much.

I remember doing the rotors/brakes on my 92 and it was a one peice rotor and hub...

I could swear tho that my '87 is setup like most of the newer GMs, with the rotor that is seperate from the hub.... Am I losing it?

The one nice thing about our 10 year run of cars is that the brake rotors never changed! (although they could have made the stock ones a little larger in the front, but hey, thats what upgrades are for)...
