need help fixing my rear 1LE's
The ruber seals (#2) werent installed right and water & dirt went inside. Now those long things (#1) that go inside the caliper braket (#3) or however is called are rusted and so is the inside of the braket. They were a pain to remove. One of them wasnt that bad & I can tell that they are soposed to be crome plated or something.
Now, the problem is that they dont slide in and out of the braket like I asume they are suposed to. I tried polishing it, but is not enough.
Can I get these parts new at Napa or somewere? & what are the numbers for this parts?
If they can be fixed, can someone explain how.
To finish, if these parts are a pain to find and there is no way of fixing them...
is it to important if I install them like that?

Those are guide pins and can be found at the local parts store. You'll need to really clean the bores out and lube them up good and then reinstall them with the new seals, then they should work fine.
Let me know if you have trouble finding anything, I also have a few sets of those lying around.

You must have a warehouse full of parts
but seriouly, is it a big problem if I install them in their present condition?
How would it afect the braking performance of the rear.
I cant spend no more money on my brakes. The car is gona cost me a divorce.

If they get fused together with rust, your calipers won't slide when the brakes are applied. One pad and one side of the rotor will wear out faster than the other. Your rear brakes won't be as effective and you could get a pull to one side during braking. If you polish the rust off of them and lube them up well, they'll probably be find for a little while, at least.

what do you use to lub the pins, bushings, etc on brakes? Is there Brake lub? Will bearing grease work?
thanks,

I use that lube that Spohn offers...it's really sticky and works very well.
