Rear disc problem

I'm having an issue putting new pads on my rear discs. I know I'm missing something simple, but no matter how hard I try to drive the caliper piston back into the bore it won't go. I bent a brand new craftsman 6" C-clamp trying to do this. I even tried opening up the bleeder valve to release the pressure just incase the fluid wouldn't return into the master cylinder for some reason. That didn't help either. I think it might have something to do with the e-brake, but I have only worked on front disc - rear drum before so I can't be sure. The damned haynes manual is no help either. So if anyone could venture a guess as to what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate the help.

You have to screw the pistons back in, not press them.

Just twist it? I've never heard of that before. Is it possible I damaged it by trying it press it back in?

It's probably stuck, those calipers are known for that. Rebuild them while you're at it with the recall kit and that will fix your problem.

That's the way most rear caliper setups with parking brakes work. It's possible you could have stripped the threads with the clamp.

Lol, that was months ago. No, I didn't strip it. I just gave it a little elbow grease and it started rotating right back into place. BTW, EB thanks for the advice.
