What size spacers with C5 Z06 Brakes?
I just bought some 17x9.5 Z06 wheels.....have a 4th gen rear so that back is taken care of...on the front...I have some C5 Z06 brakes waiting to be put on. I believe I read somewhere that the Z06 brake upgrade will move the wheels out a bit...anyone know exactly how much? In addition, the hubs I had made are using the 1LE rotors...so thats even more that they will be sticking out. So, does anyone know what size spacers I'll need?
I did a search and this is the only info I found
difference between regular front brake hub and 1LE brake hub
~ .317-.318"
Standard Non-1LE front -small bearings(10.5" rotor)
3.630"
1LE brake setup- large bearings (12" rotor)
*THIS IS THE FACTORY STANDARD FOR 245/50-16 tires on an 8"wide rim*
3.948" [+.318 offset, or just over 5/16"]
My setup-large bearings (12.9" rotor) with a 3/16" wheel spacer for rim to caliper clearence
3.967" [+ .337" offset, or just over 5/16"}
13" C4 HD's on 1LE hub-large bearings(13" rotor)
4.248" [+.618" offset, or just shy of 5/8"]
13" C4 HD's on std hub-small bearings(13"rotor)
3.930" [+.300" offset, or just shy of 5/16"]
C5 setup on stand or 1LE hubs (12.75" rotor)
No clue?If anyone has a "+ or - "offset from any of the combo's above- please contribute."]

C5 rotor will add .300" and the 1LE hub will add .318", for a total of .618" (about 9/16"). So, I know a lot of guys will run either a 2" or 2.25" spacer up front with 4th gen or C5 wheels. Doing math, seems like you'll need a 1.382"-1.632" spacer so we'll say 1.5". I'd go no larger than 1.75" and you should be fine.

Thanks a lot ed.....now in your opinion.....should i get a 1.4" bolt on spacer and fine tune it with some slip on spacers.....or get a 1.5"+ bolt on spacer and hope I like the results? Can they even make the spacers that precise?
I want to get these wheels tucked in as much as possible with no rubbing. Thanks

You can barely see a tenth of and inch so just go with a 1.5" and be done with it. No need to be that precise.

Great I hope my C4HD brakes won't kick my tires out past my fender in the front. I'm using a 2" spacer for my 4th gen rims and I was planning on the same spacer for my 17x8.5 vette rims. Oh well, I guess I can take them to my old high school and turn them down a bit on a lathe.

Lock has my LS1 front brakes with a 2.25" spacer with no issues. If you do the math it works out about the same so you should be fine.
