Backing Plates

I'm kind of puzzled, which is not a new state for me., I found two different sets of 10 bolt packing plates and GMparts.com carry both. The ones you all have mention and then a set I found out about at http://www.geocities.com/torkerscamaro/torker.html

The part #'s are: RH 18019858 & LH 18019857

They're supose to be for a 93-97 Z28. They look to be heavy duty.

The article also mentions a Master Cylinder Swap for the Camaro that more or less a bolt-in. Might be some good info , I remember that some were asking about this.

Does the 10-bolt 7.5 have the same flange pattern as the 10-bolt 8.5 rear.

Last question, I've noticed that most perfer to buy loaded calipers instead of buying used and rebuilding, is there a reason other than getting all the parts?

Those are 4th gen plates as opposed to the 3rd gen plates we talk about more often...both will work. The 4th gen plates are cast iron and therefore thicker, and the 3rd gen plates are pressed steel so you make the call on strength.

I believe all 10 bolt flanges are the same. As for the calipers, complete used calipers in good shape are getting harder to find so loaded is the way to go. Pads are included usually.

Thanks Ed,
As I stated before, when it comes to Chevy High Performance, Third Gen ROCKS! This place is always a couple of years ahead of the rest. Quess thats why I stick my head in here, never too old to learn. Plus I can pass on to my students.

I was stationed in Okinawa but my unit traveled all over Mainland Japan. On one of our trips, our DrumMajor ran into a corpman, of course while drinking, that was stationed aboard the sub. He used to be attached to a infantry unit during Nam I believe. Most of the Senior Staff NCO's and Officers that I was with, served in Nam. About 4 of us got to go aboard, it was an experiance that only comes around once. I myself had started out in a weapons platoon. After about 18 months I turned my M-60 and Dragon in for a Tuba and spent over 10 years in the Band. Hearing loss and arthritis ended up forcing me out with around 14 years of service. If I got a chance to do it over again, no questions about it, I would.

Yes--but do you already have PBR's?
