pbr e brake

K, having a little trouble getting the ebrake cable attached to the calipers on my new PBR setup. Since ive got nothing to really work with I'm just figuring this is how these things are set up, first the cable goes through the hole (little red circle) and then slips over the hook (big red circle). Only problem i'm having is the rectangle metal part that slips over the hook on the caliper seems to be to narrow, or the hook too wide. Is this common, and should i make the rectangle bigger, or the hook smaller, or am i doing this all wrong? thanks already.

Nope, that's how they go on. Odd that the lever won't fit inside the square hole so to speak. I'd take a small file and enlarge the hole a bit. I wouldn't touch the lever unless you absolutely had to, that can be an expensive part to replace all by itself.

Referring to your third pic: Also, you need to pull a little extra cable through the hole and slide the hole over the lever at an angle, it's designed very well not to slip off so it may take some man handling to get it on. The cable won't slide on as you have it in the picture, it needs to be angled up and to the right compared to your pic, looking like it's pointing to 2 O'clock or so.

Good luck!

Ed

A few seconds to enlarge the cable end to fit the the lever. Did it on my swap.
