Brakes locking up after pad change

HELP!!!

I changed the front brake pads (ceramic) . Took the car for a test drive and just about started a fire on the rotors.

The piston in the caliper it seems is not going back in. Its like the brakes are permanently ON ! Thought the problem was the caliper so i replaced that and same thing after one push of the pedal and let off, pads squeezing so tight I cant even spin the rotor.

COuld this just be air in the lines or is it something else that i Dont know about.

I cant bleed the lines because theres no one around here at the moment to help...

Oh yeah, this car sat for two years, and this is the first the pads have been changed since then, probably about 4 years.

if that helps.

you might have to replace the brake hoses also

well i bled the sticking brake line forever, the piston is now backing off somewhat.

One thing i noticed is that if i take the brake fluid cap off on the master cyl. and push the brake pedal,,,bubbles come up through one of the chambers, then later its just shooting fluid up through the chamber and onto my windshield...lol.

Does that indicate just air in the lines or is something screwed with the master cyl. ?

Did you hang the calipers by the brake lines while you were changing the pads?

Very bad thing to do. The inside of the old hoses can flake loose, forming a one-way check valve... Basically the fluid goes in, then on the way back, the piece of lining gets pushed sideways and plugs the line. Now your brakes are locked up. Solution: Replace the hoses.
