wheel cylinder retaining clip loose

I recently replaced the rear wheel cylinders on my 87 Firebird and noticed that after they were installed , they could be rocked back and forth slightly. How can I increase the clip tension so that the wheel cylinders stay put without moving?
Also,is there an easier way to install those clips?

Did your new wheel cylinders come with new clips or did you have to use the old ones again? If they seem to loose, than I would try bending them in, slightly more than they already are, and then see if it's any better.

I don't know of any easy way to install them. Usually, it's getting them off that's hard!
