need quick help
Tonight I am installing the Baer 13 inch front track dual piston pbr caliper brake system on my 87 iroc with stock iroc 16 inch wheels. The measuring cutout fits the rim. I was told by baer they would fit. When I bolt the spindle assembly onto the rim just the caliper fins rub the rim. There is tons of clearance otherwise. It appears that they need to be grounded off a little. What gives? Is it okey to grind these, are they not for strength?
Thanks

I wouldn't grind anything...if they hit, and they shouldn't, use a thin spacer from a drum rear car to get the clearance. Why in the world you would spend that much money and want to start grinding on new parts is beyond me. Not bashing you but that's not the best idea. FWIW, I run 13" HDs which are the same as the Baer setup and mine don't hit anywhere.

Thanks Ed for the reply
I don't uderstand why they rub since there are people that use the exact same rim and Baer setup with no problems. Should it matter, are the spindles directional ie Left and right specific? Maybe I used the wrong one on my passenger rim?
Anyway what thickness spacer should I try to begin with? Where can I get one?
Many thanks for your replies.

The rotors should be left and right specific but that won't be the problem, nor will the spindles as they will only fit on one side. The dealer can get that rear spacer and also check the classifieds. I think I have a set too, but I'm not sure. That's the easiest fix. Also, I'd call Baer and tell them your problem, maybe they can give you some assistance.
