Performance package
I have an 88 5.7 Z.....I am doing brake work obviously, and am having some trouble with my local parts emporium. I recieved two different, both incorrect rotors from them, the raybestos 6995, which is what they gave me, says online that it is with the performance package. I guess that would mean my car does not have the performance package, I heard 88's have the bad brakes.
Anyway, if someone could shed a little light on where I could find the correct parts, would partsamerica be good? I'd appreciate it!
I would like to add that the car was built early in production, might my car have rotors from 87??

Front or rear?
The odds of having a 88 car with the "performance package" are about 100,000 to 1. So it's really not worth worrying about.
87 & 88 rotors are the same. For that matter, 82-92 front rotors are all the same, except for the 1LE cars (there were a grand total of about 4 of those in 88); 88-back rears are all the same; and 89-up rears are all the same.
You should have 4 cast-iron calipers on your car, with the rear ones mounted strange-looking, one in front of the axle and one behind it. Assuming of course that you have rear discs in the first place; and that your car has all the stuff on it that came on it. If some of it has been swapped out, then of course all bets are off.

sorry it's like a week later.. Yeah, I was referring to the rear brakes. But up front I guess it would be safe to say that I have a single piston caliper, I have yet to look as my car has the factory wheel locks and I have no key
I must get one of those. To make matters worse I cannot find my reciept to return the parts.....I know I have it, just gotta find it.

You do not have the performance package, and since you have an 88 your rear brakes are also not the performance package. 89+ rear disc brakes are all the 12 PBR brakes.
