Sometimes when I brake the pedal feels harder than usual and it definetley does not stop very well. This only happens once in a while though so can this be the master?? Do masters fail intermitantley? Oh, by the way, it's the original master with about 103,000 miles on it. Thanks in advance!

 

it could be you don't have enough/good vacuum or a bad booster.

 

o really? hmm....How do you check the booster and for enough vacuum?

 

I think I'm having the same problem as you. It seems to happen to me when its hot out. I think somehow the heat must be affecting it. On my drive home from work just now the pedal was hard to depress, and braking performance was definately not like it ususally is. Altho I know that tonight when I go out it will be fine. I almost pray for cooler weather.
