rear calipers

ok, so I just bought a disc rearend for my car out of a 91 GTA Trans Am, but it didn't come with calipers or pads.

what I'm wondering is, were there any other cars made at a similar time that use the same calipers, so I can get 'em from a junk yard and either put 'em on my car or use them for the core charge?

also, when I go to autzone/advance auto to get the new calipers, does anyone know if I'll be getting the better aluminum calipers that came on the later models or the not so good ones that were on the earlier years?

and has anyone heard of abs on thirdgens? a friend swears up and down that his old 89' had abs and that the whole underhood brake setup did not look like mine. he also had rear drums, if that means anything.

I doubt it, but like I said, he swears up and down that he had it.

thanks for any help.

All calipers from '89-97 will work, no major changes in the designs. And NO there was NOT an ABS on 3rd gens. ABS on a drum rear car? Yeah right..

alright, but were there any other cars than f-body's that I could look to for the calipers?

rear disc on f-body's is damn near impossible to find around here, period.

Cast iron Delco/Moraine calipers aren't interchangeable with the aluminum PBRs. If you go to the parts store and ask for the calipers for any rear disc Camaro or Firebird from 1988 to 1997, you'll get the right calipers.
