This is what bad brake hoses look like

This is what bad brake hoses look like

Well here is some pictorial evidence of bad third gen brake hoses. I knew that they where something that needed replaced, however when one became a one way valve, it became immediate.


They don't look to bad from a far but they are. I remember the small cracks the last time I took the wheels off but not the big ones.



I would have failed safety inspection in my area, if these had been noticed.



$28.70 and an hour and I was back on my way.

What I couldn't believe was the change in pedal feel and brake bias. The pedal is much softer and the rears are working a whole lot more. And, Yes I've bled them enough.

And the scary part is... They were going bad inside long before they went bad outside!!!

those can go another 20k miles, man!


lol seriously though, I had one blow out on my way to work last summer. not fun at all. it was like $20 to replace... I bought one, then purchased Earl's SS brake lines, and cleaned then returned the rubber one. Couldn't be happier.
