Brakes chatter when going in reverse???
I just had a Baer 4 wheel disc brake kit installed. . . a couple of questions/issues:
1.) When going in reverse, the rear brakes screech / chatter / vibrate horribly when I apply the pedal. This only occurs in reverse, and is far more prevalent when cold.
2.) The brakes aren't nearly as impressive as I thought they would be. . . and I can hardly tell much of a difference between them and the stock ones.
Could this be a pressure issue or something? I do have the Baer proportioning valve turned up all the way for the rears, so maybe that has something to do with it?

As for the brakes not being impressive yet, how long have they been installed and used? It does take a "while" to bed the pads to the rotors and vice versa. My HDs didn't come into their own for a few months really, but when they did...Ohhhh man...what a setup. As for the prop, IMO I'd dial it down until the brakes bed in and then play with the tuning when the brakes can grab. I'm sure other guys that actually run one can give you more help with it.

The PBR set-up from Baer is identical to the OEM set-up from 88-89. All of them had scrubbing sounds when reversing so GM put dampeners on the 90-92 models. They look like a 3" rubber doughnut on a stick and attached to the caliper. It's only annoying, nothing that can be dangerous or cause any damage.

They're on 4th gen PBRs...I take those things off all the calipers I work with, I have 30 of them in my shop. Here's a fuzzy pic:
