Well, it appears my brakes or lines are leaking in the rear. I've noticed this small puddle off and on for a while now. At first I didn't really pay attention to it because it didn't seem major but I've noticed it more now so I'm concerned. It seems to do it when I have the parking brake up so I put it down to see if it does anything.

Anyway, I'm sure it is time to rebuild/replace my brake calipers and lines. What is the best way to go about this? I've looked for rebuild kits but not sure what to get. I read about a recall kit for 82-88 but I checked the gmpartsdirect.com page with the part number and it comes up as actuator...don't think this is correct. Should I rebuild the calipers or go with an upgrade? I'm trying to go cheap so performance isn't a big issue with me right now. Although I read about the C4 upgrade and it sounds like it would be pretty good. I just don't know what route to go...please give me some advice.

Well, whatever you decide, make sure to get new brake pads too - the old ones may well be contaminated by the leaking brake fluid! The pads should come as an axle set, so while your replacing the pads on the other disc, check that caliper for leaks too. Mind you, if you're thinking of replacing the whole lot then that's not an issue.

Mark.

Not got discs on the rear of my T/A, just drums.

Check the rear axel seal for leaks too.
