brakes are killing me
i got a disk rear to swap for my drum rear and havent had the rear brakes working right since. there seems to be lil to no fluid going to them so they dont clamp good. new calipers, booster, ebrake braket and cables used but good, and proportioning valve and master cylinder. my mechanic thats putting all this on says they still dont work and its cause the models w/ rear discs had smaller front calipers which took less fluid and the reason no fluid is going to the back is cause the front calipers on the drum brake car is taking more fluid than it would on the discs. does this just sound wrong to u guys to cause ive never heard that before. thanks for any help u can give.

All cars (except 1LE and B4Cs) had the same front calipers, regardless of whether they had drums, Delco Moraine discs, or PBR discs in the rear.

What happens when they are bled? Do you get a good stream out the rear bleeders? My thought was maybe a piece of trash/rust got into the line when you swapped rears. Forget the "mechanic" - get in there and see for yourself what it's doing. They only time I ever got anything done right was to do it myself!

If you are using a disc/drum prop valve you should have the opposite problem. Drum cars direct alot more pressure to the rear before engaging the front brakes, just to open the drum springs.

i already switched the proportioning valve when i did the swap. and ive never heard anything like that before and it sounds like he just started replacing stuff piece by piece and is running out of stuff to replace and just made this one up or somethin but im no expert so i was asking here first. hes been helpful up untill now and i cant say anything cause as i said i will need him to help me if the past thing goes to court but i just wanted to confirm my suspesions. i got an abs code intermitently also i figured it may have something to do w/ a VSS cause ive heard they can cause problems w/ brakes.
