I have a 4th gen disc rear and I want to go back to a 3rdgen rear but I cant find any disc setups around. Can the factory 3rd or 4th gen disc brakes be adapted to a 3rd gen drum rear? Are the housings diff between the 2 setups on the 3rd gens? I am able to locate axles from a disc rear and it looks like there is a caliper bracket on the ends of the axles but I cant tell for sure by the pics. Are the disc axles made with brackets on them from the factory? if al goes well, I figure I can use my posi and gear setup from my 4th gen rear, buy new Moser axles as a last resort and use my 4th gen LT1 brakes. That is only if I find a rearend housing that will work.

 

4th gen brakes will fit fine onto a 3rd gen rear. All it needs are some mods describe in the tech article section about drum to disc. 10 bolt axles should all be the same except for length. 9 bolts have a retainer that hold the axle along with the bracket for the calipers.
