lowdown on c5 upgrade and fitment.
i'd like to have somebody with some perfessional advice on this, correct my understanding. I picked up some C5 calipers front and rear for next to nothing so its sparked my interest to do the rest of the deal. Now for the front you need to modify a hub from a old rotor and cut and put on new adaptors to the spindle like on www.bigbrakeupgrade.com But upgrading to these calipers there is now a space issue with rims. I want to run torque thrust IIs but they won't clear? im assuming this is the 17x8"rim with 4"backspacing and -11.43mm offset. what if you used the rear option rim 17x8" with 4.75backspacing and 7.62mm offset. would this be better off or worse. But i believe i read there is a spacer needed if that idea doesn't work, how big is this spacer? a slip on or a bolt on?
for the rear. I'm planning on running a LS1 4th gen rear end. Now I thought that the rear calipers were interchangable from the LS1 to the C5 ones. but I can't put the c5 calipers on and run LS1 rotors? so what would it take to be able to use the c5 calipers? c5 rotors/parking brake and have the correct caliper adaptors plates? if so where can i get the adaptors? and if i get that all figured out will it fit under a torque thrust II 17x9.5" 7inchs of backspacing and 45.72mm offset
