braided brake lines for C5 upgrade(where?)
I did some searching and cant find a place that sells new braided brake hoses (lines) that go from the chassis to the caliper for a C5 brake upgrade on the front. I have a 91z28 and Im pretty sure I have metric threads. Im pretty sure the C5 calipers are metric too but I havent got into the project yet to prove it. Spohn says they dont have what I need. I also have an LT1 disc rear and would like to add stainless lines back there as well but my main concern is the front right now.My car came with a drum rear. Who sells the lines i need to complete this swap. Im pretty sure I have already bought the C5 banjo bolts. I just need to get the crush washers.

Just use a 1LE brake line. I have the brake lines you need for both the front (C5) and rear (LT1). LMK....

A company named Paragon makes then...do a search for stainless brake hoses and they should come up. They designed them for me when I did my swap. I think they are listed as just 82-92 F-body but they are actually long enough for the 1LE setup and the Z06 conversion. I was the prototype so I know.

Well I found their web site but it wasn't up.

By chance do you have the measurements on the IROC's lines? I want to retain that intermediate connection and replace both hoses.

If you want to stay in town in the Tucson, AZ area, you can go see Bob at
Magills's Tubes and Hoses (690-0903)-he makes genuine DOT approved
stainless braided hoses of any sort with a clear, red or blue cover. I deal
with him all the time, mostly for a/c and oil cooler hoses, and I couldn't be
happier! Tell him Marc from Merles sent ya!

Front pair of lines, one per side. One single piece per side, not a separate hose if that's clear.

Yeah that is what I was wonderin, because there is still that intermediate junction with the rubber line that attaches to the hard line. Does the 1LE line replace both of these pieces?

Even your standard camaro hoses will work-can't speak for Ed's Earls hoses,
but my hoses have the 'bulkhead' (where the hose clips in) built in-I'm sure
the Earl's are the same.

There's not a "junction" in the hose, that's just a steel mount to hold the line in the bracket, the line is never broken. Here is a pic of the Earl's lines I have. This was taken when I was doing my 1LE upgrade. The hose as seen here is not fully installed, just kinda hanging there. More pics are at the link in my sig....

this may be a dumb question, but in that pic just above what is that black piece that like runs around the caliper, holds the pads in there?

I'd have to dig out the spreadsheet I have at home. Let me know if you can't wait a week. If you can, the March issue of GM High Tech Performance goes on sale next tuesday and my article on the C5 front brake swap will be in there complete with all the part numbers.
