LS1 to C5 brake upgrade
LAST YEAR I DID THE LS1 FRONT BRAKE UPGRADE ON MY '87 GTA, THEY WORKED GREAT, BUT I WANT TO MOVE ON UP TO C5 BRAKES. ALL THAT I NEED IS THE CALIPER BRACKET THAT BOLTS TO THE SPINDLE, BUT I CANNOT FIND THE DIMENSIONS ANYWHERE ON THIS SITE. DOES ANYBODY HAVE THE C5 BRACKET DIMENSIONS SO I CAN GET SOME MADE? THANK YOU

Luke,
If I read your question right you are looking for the following answer.
according to this post:
LS1 brake swap post
they are the same:
Q: Are the C5 and LS1 caliper interchangeable?
A: Yes, You can go to a parts store and purchase a C5 caliper and use it on a LS1 abutment bracket (mounting bracket, some times called a caliper carrier). The C5 and LS1 calipers abutment brackets are different though so only the calipers are interchangeable.
I saw another post comparing the LS1 and C5 caliper carrier and they bolt to the same bracket on the spindle?
Looking at some of the other posts now, I guess you can use LS1 caliper carrier for C5 also on a LS1 rotor, but if you want to upgrade rotor and caliper to C5 you'll need a different spindle bracket? Still trying to figure all this out myself.

He's gonna need a whole new bracket for the C5s, the spacing is different. You are correct on a lot of points, as the calipers interchanging, but to do the whole thing he needs the bracket.

Thanks Ed,
I've searched the brake forum pretty extensively and don't think I've seen a pattern for the C5.
