9-bolt to 10-bolt
9-bolt to 10-bolt
I am putting a 10-bolt in my 88 IROC, currently there is a 9-bolt. If I use my 9-bolt backing plates, roters and calipers will it work smoothly or are there other pitfalls that dictate that I should switch to the later brakes now instead of later. Brakes are not the top priority, the 9-bolt is worn out and I want to get the t-5 and engine installed before I go after brakes.

The 9- and 10-bolt backing plates are not interchangeable. Now's the time to upgrade to PBR's.

I have my 9-bolt backing plate, rotors, calipers...will this backing plate not attach to the 10-bolt housing allow installation of the brakes. Something about shop projects...they just never end but I suppose that is why we do it.

Different bolt pattern between the two backing plates. Find some 10-backing plates and you should be able to bolt everything up.
