brake pads drag...

It seems as if my front pads seem to slightlyt drag along the rotors when i spin the wheels (the car is up on a jack right now)...is there a way to decrease the "resistance" caused by the brakes/pads. I want the wheels to spin with little to no resistence....thanks. (as you might be able to tell, i know very little about brakes)

They are going to drag a little. Unless they are warped or rusted, there isnt anything you can do to stop the normal resistance. Are the brakes new? If they are old maybe the rotors are warped or the calipers need the slides cleaned and greased or something.

They're old, but not worn too much...the rotors are a bit rusted, so maybe I'll just have them replaced along with the pads...also, id there some kind of wheel bearing or other components that should be replaced as well?...I heard that with our camaros, there's something else that should be done that doesn't need to be done on other cars, maybe someone could clarify that for me, Thanks!

You may not need to replace the rotors, just have them turned. Whoever turns them will measure them and let you know. While you have the rotors off, you should repack the wheel bearings. The pads would need to be replaced if you decide to turn the rotors as well. Honestly, if youre not having trouble, the rotors arent warped, and things arent worn, I wouldn't mess with it just yet unless you just want the peace of mind or the wheel bearings need a repack or something.

The rotor rust should come off when you drive it...as long as its just surface rust from sitting, you should be ok.
