bleeding my brakes
bleeding my brakes
Hey,
I just fininshed installing my earl's B.L. on my front and rear PBR's. I went through the process of bleeding the brakes according to the GM manual; started with r.rear - l.rear, f.right and f.left - followed the instructions to the "T"...
Bleeding the rear's was no problem, but with the fronts I am having a hard time purging the air in the system.... It seems that even after purging the system 10-12* I still get a very minute stream of microscopic size air bubbles which disappear after the bleeder has been held open and the brake pedal has been held in the down position. All my hardlines are tight, the b.l are new, the master cylinder is good. How "clear" should the brake fluid be? The bubbles are so small - and the stream is not very long, but I am noticing them! Should I be concerned (the brake pedal is hard with all the bleeders closed tight? and there are no leakes that are noticable. Do I have to continue bleeding the system? Would there be a difference if I had the brake system purged using a vaccum method
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It could very well be getting in around the bleeder screw when you are loosening it...I'd CAREFULLY drive the car, and after a little while bleed it again. If there is any air in ths system, this should dislodge it. A vaccum bleeder, while nice, shouldn't be necessary.
