Just bought a 1986 Chevrolet Camaro that was a base V6 and now got everything from a 89 IROC-Z...

The car is real hard to stop. All pads are near new and the car stop in a straight line.

Rear disc aren't working... The calipers are either seized (which is very common) or they need to be adjusted... You have to use the parking brake to properly adjust the rear caliper piston... If you swapped rear disc in, you need a porportioning valve for the disc setup as well...

Yeah the rear disc were swapped in but all the braking system been swapped so the proportioning valve should be good.

So I should let my mechanic look at it

As I said before, use your ebrake to set the rear calipers... They need to be properly adjusted.... This is from personal experience from redoing rear disc brakes with ratchet type ebrakes on numerous different vehicles...

If the rear calipers arent adjusted, then you end up relying too much on your front brakes...
