Baer brake kits
I was wondering if any of you guys had strong opinions on these brake kits other than the cost. I know that nowadays there is a lot of options for brake kits, but for some reason I feel partial to the baer kits. Maybe someone should tell me why not to do it.

I bought one for my Formula. Kit was nice. Yes I could have saved and pieced stuff together, but they came all assembled. All i had to do was place on BJ and bolt in.

I have both plus and minus to the Baers:
PLUS: They have some of the best rotors available. DBA Austrailia makes rotors for Baer and I have both Baer rotors and DBAs in the shop and they are VERY thick and can handle the heat no doubt. Here's a comparison I did with a stock and Baer rotor. Pics speak louder than words:

MINUS: Cost. Baer has raised their prices a LOT this year, both on rotors and complete kits. Thunder lists the 13" Claw Track kit at $1231.99 before options and the spindle core charge. I can do that kit for less than $900 all day long, all in one kit as well, saving you $331.99 to spend on other parts.
Baer has a look that some guys need to have but you can get zinc washed and drilled rotors other places as well. It's personal preference I guess.

Ed, thank you for the info. Sounds like from the searches I have done you are the man who knows. I am the type of guy that wants the name, but the quality also looks exceptional. I talked with a guy @ Baer (Johnny) that was telling me that the 91-92 camaros do not need a adjustable proportioning valve when swapping drums to disc in the rear. From every thing I have researched this is completly wrong. I made him put me on hold and he talked with the tech dept., and they said yup, no apv only on 91-92. They said the rear brake bias is enough on these two years? I am leary about this. I did order the brake kit - Track pro w/ 13" two piece rotors in front, and Track w/ 1 piece rotors in rear. Had them polish the calipers, slot, drill, and zinc the rotors. I have not ordered the prop valve do to what they have told me, but maybe they are completely wrong an I should just order now.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Get a 1LE combo-valve for that set-up, you'll be fine...
