Do I have the right disc brake rear??

My '88 Trans Am has disc brake calipers that look just like my friend '89 Corvette. When I went to replace the rotors the parts guy said I didn't have the right rear in the car.
Also ...I got the pass. side pads on OK but the drivers side doesn't seem to want to open enough to allow the rotor to spin when I finally do get the pads on it.
Any ideas??
Thanks

Maybe not for your '88 year car, it shouldn't have the aluminum calipers so I'd think it may have been swapped out with a '89-92 year rear..is it a 9 or 10 bolt? You'll need to press the piston in a bit further to get the pads in.

It's a 10 bolt.
Any tips on how to get the piston in further without hurting anything? I used a c-clamp and an expandable x-type pad spreader...no luck. Could it be a bad caliper?
Thanks
