TRANS AM REAREND UNDER CAMARO
alright heres the deal, i have an '87 berlinetta sport coupe with lg4, 700r4 trans, drums rear brakes <<(that's what the front liscense plateholder says!!!) and just got for free a 86 trans am, (lg4 rear disc on it 5-speed, since the camaro has drums on the back and the trans am is junked (blown engine rods out the oil pan and everythin) will the transam's rear end go under the camaro no problem?? and what will i need to get the parking brake hooked up, and brakelines hooked up. thanks in advance guys latez

You will have no problems bolting up a thrid gen rearend to a third gen. All hook ups should be the exact same. I keep hearing different reports on the master cylinder on a disk and drum rear and personally (note I put personally on there others will say differently) that there really isn't a difference. I went from a drum to disk without changing the MC and so far so good, although I am putting on a proportioning valve.

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the combination valve as the rear brakes need more fluid when you go to disk brakes.
