I have a 1989 camaro that I did an engine swap on from a v6 to a built 350 and 700r4 trans tbi. Before installing I put a B&M shift kit in the tranny. I believe I followed all the directions and put the car back together. Got it running and the car wouldn't go into reverse. Tried changing the shifter with a used one and now it won't go into any of the gears. I'm 19 go to college and am running out of cash and ideas of what it could be. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! Also I have two wires that I can't find the connections to, I read online that these could be to a manual trans, but the harness is from an automatic, so how many wires go to the 700r4 so I know I have them all connected? Thanks again.

 

it sounds like you shifter linkage is out of wack the only wire to a 700r4 is for the torque converter lock up the tv cable from the trans to carb controls your tranny my advice tci fast gate shifter and make sure your linkage at the tranny for your shifter is adjusted right

 

Did you get your Shifter issues fixed ?
Also with the exception of the nss,vss,and rev lights I just finished putting a 700r from 1985 z28 into a 91 t5 Car. (Its my son's first car) the T 5 is along with the 305 from the 700r donor is going in my 1967 C10 short bed.
I used a B&m mega shifter and a tunnel section from the Z.
I'd be happy to Try and answer any questions Also I have the complete Z28 minus those parts that im parting out. And the 3 speed saginaw that needs 1st gear out of the C10

I have a question can a v8 trans go to a v6 motor in a mustang? Well actually I'm trying to see which starter I could us the trans is bolted up but nor the v8 are the v6 starter will bolt up
