which pads and rotors?

i have an '83 firebird and i wanted to upgrade to better pads and rotors. i had a few ideas: 1) use brembo OEM replacement rotors (smooth) and bendix ct3 ceramic pads or monroe semi metallic pads, 2) use powerslot slotted rotors and either the bedix ct3 ceramics or hawks street performance or ceramic pads. does anyone have any preference or any other ideas on what pads and rotors to use? are the cracking myths about cross drilled rotors true? (i'd rather go with slotted rotors anyway). keep in mind i want better preformance, better cooling, low dust, and low noise. any help would be appreciated.
