Trying to get stock set up to work after 3 year build...HELP!!!
OK so here is what I have done.
Not too much. The brakes are all stock. One side of the car has new stock calipers. The front has new pads and rotors. The rearts rotors are fine and so are the pads, Oh I also added line lock. There are no leaks. (anymore)
I added speed bleaders too.
Now here is my problem. I am trying to blead the system, and it doesn't seem to be working. I can only get a tinny bit of fluid to come out when I open the beaders and punp. I pumped a ton of times. Finally a little fluid came out, but then I looked in the resivoir and the front partition was empty. I refilled it and kept trying. I must have pumped it 30 times on one front brake and couldn't get anything to come out. I have a compressor, is there anyway to use that to help me get all the air out of my system? I am lost.... The lines are all new, so this is why they had 0 fluid in them before.
It feels a little better, but I still have to really push to get the car to stop. Please, any help would be great. I need to drive this thing 20 miles in a week so that it can get painted. Thanks for any help.

Problem is, the master cyl is full of air.
You MUST "bench bleed" it. Which means, take it off and clamp it in a vise, LEVEL, and bleed it like that. Then put it back on and hook the lines back up and bleed the rest of the system WITHOUT LETTING THE RESERVOIR RUN DRY.
When it's installed on the car, it's at a rather steep angle. The lines aren't at the highest point. Therefore, if it's ever allowed to run dry, there will be air in there; and the pocket of it that's trapped at the top CANNOT come out through the lines. You can bleed it with a thousand gallons of fluid every day from now till Doomsday, and you will NEVER get rid of that air pocket, unless you take it off and bleed it while it's being held level, so that the lines ARE at the highest point.

Wow! that must be it. I can't believe I am so stupid. I remember reading aobut that and I actually did do that the first time I put it in the car, I can't believe I forgot all about that.
I remember reading that all you really need to do it unbolt it from the booster, and take off whatever lines are holding it in the car. fill the resivoirs and push the plunger in with a screwdriver till all the bubbles are out or something like that.
I will do that today i think, esspecially if I get my valves set, then I do the brakes and I should be good to go much farther then just around the block....
Thanks for reminding me about that problem.
If you know of anymore details that will help me do this job, fill me in. I will search for bench bleeding and see what details I can pick up that way aswell.
Thanks again.
